excuses... again...

I owe pictures for the past few days... and hopefully I will get to taking them tomorrow... I'm not doing so well with this picture a day deal... I shall put on the burlap sack-of-shame...

Gotta Catch 'Em All

A's obsession is Pokemon. He has the cards (not that he knows how to play the card game... yet)... He has several different versions of the game (Soul Silver, Diamond, Fire Red, Emerald, Sapphire)... he loves the show, has about 15 plushie friends, and a slew of other Pokemon Paraphernalia... He is, an addict... Game Stop, and Toys'R'Us are both having download events in the coming months in preparation for the newest game coming in March... Carnavine was the first Pokemon he figured out how to makes eggs of... And he has about 70 or so Carnavine eggs waiting to hatch.

back in the saddle again...

So... C is teething.  Hardcore teething... it's been a... delightful tragic experience for the whole household... she has been positively miserable for the past few weeks... today we got the raw baltic amber teething necklace we ordered for her last week, and since noon she's practically been a whole new baby!  (of course as I write this up she's crying) but that aside... she's been a delightful little thing... She's even laughed a few times! Here she is teething on the flower teether on her saucer...

This is Sophie the Giraffe... She is C's most favorite toy... She's rarely without her, and she noms on her like there's no tomorrow... Sophie doesn't mind at all. In fact, I think she secretly gets jealous when C noms on anything else... Mom, Dad and C's own feet included.

Sophie has saved the day (or the car trip, at the very least) many times.. I think the necklace and Sophie will prove to be quite the winning combination...

This picture cues up the song "You've Got A Friend in Me" from Toy Story...

I would have included a picture of A in this getting back on track post... but the boy will not let me take a picture of him... He runs, and he hides! or... because he's a smart little thing, he moves quickly enough as I'm pressing down the shutter to make the shots blurry... He told me so this afternoon... little bugger.

And with that I'm back on track...

11 & 12

I will post pictures 11-13 tomorrow... I hope... Things have pretty crazy... C is teething, and that's been a bowl full of fun, and then A had a snow day today... Having 18+ inches of snow dropped on us overnight made for a day of craziness... but it's mostly C's fault, and my inability to manage my time properly and get the pictures taken and processed... but i'm getting back on the ball tomorrow... I hope.

10/365 Who says you can't play with your food?

Ah... The days of making bentos... I used to make my husband these cute little lunches. but fell out of practice when supplies (and groceries!) started to get too expensive... and now with C, it's just too much work... But with A starting first grade next year perhaps I'll get myself back into it...

A actually had the equivalent of one whole egg tonight.  That's amazing!!  Considering how picky he is about his food, and what he will and will not eat.  I think the food coloring got him excited.  Fun colored foods always make me excited!

It's a lazy Sunday in our house today...

Does anyone know is there a way to comment to comments using blogger?  I would like to comment directly to the comments I've received, and not just a comment to the post...

C was being a fussy pants today... But that's her usual gig ;)

What do you do during play off football?

I go between cheering for whichever team I think my New England Patriots can beat the easiest... and baking... I love baking...

This afternoon I wanted cupcakes.  Really bad.

Behold, light brown sugar cupcakes with salted caramel swiss meringue buttercream... This picture almost didn't get taken... because I wanted to dive right in and eat the thing... it was taunting me.  "Eat me!" is says.

Ok. :)

"I has a foot and I like to play with it."

C really enjoys playing with her feet when they aren't sheathed in a footie sleep'n'play...

I'm so bummed that the lighting in my house was crappy for this shot... (the lighting in my house is pretty crappy for almost any time I want to take pictures, but usually I can compensate)...

noiseware really saved this picture, and the rest of the pictures in the set... and I will be buying myself a copy of it next week... I'm deciding if I want to buy the standalone program... or if I want to buy the plug-in for photoshop... decisions, decisions..

I wasn't going to use this picture... but i don't have much of a choice... it was either this or the pictures of the atari carts my husband had me take tonight... and who's interested in those...

Thank goodness Spaceman and the Baywatch Babe were inside shopping for a motorcycle when THAT happened.

Honestly, I'm not sure what is going on here, but A must have a good explanation... or at least an entertaining one.

My sister gave this to me as a wedding gift.  Whenever I look at it I think of her, and I think of the day my husband I got married.

I actually do have red hair, I'm amazed she was able to find something like this...

It's quirky, and odd... but I love it.

I wasn't able to use the camera today... so much to do today... so I needed something... and I saw this, and thought, why not?...

share a story

I love when I'm minding my own business (read: doing internet things), and I look up to see this... It really is one of my most favorite sites in the world... A reading to C.  There's just something so... magical about how enamored she is by her big brother... and how he takes it upon himself to read her stories, and play with her, "to give mom a break"... he really is such a great big brother... I question how well I'm doing as a parent all the time... and when I see this... I know I'm doing something right... I could listen to him read to her all day...

Today was a busy day... A was back at school, and life as we know it is going back to normal... Well.. Mostly normal... in another week it will really be going back to normal...

While hanging out at karate, I got this picture of C who was up to her usual tricks of being cute, and adorable.  I told you they don't cry all the time ;) Granted she's not exactly smiling, but I assure you, she was happy... for at least 5 more minutes.

After karate we went to GameStop.  They are currently having a major Pokemon event, and I really wish I had brought the 330 with me.  The lighting in those stores is never very good, certainly not enough to get a semi-decent cell pic, but the excitement A had over the special Pokemon he got today was just awesome. Part two of this three part event is next week, I'll be sure to bring the 330 for that... We all looked like uber dorks in the store, with our DSs downloading the games, but it was fun.

Day Two, or "It's All Tears"...

The last Christmas party of the year ended this afternoon.  It was a nice sendoff to the stressful holiday season.  Our regularly scheduled lives will return to normal tomorrow, and I'm looking forward to getting back into the swing of things... (only to have them jumbled up again in February, but that's neither here nor there).

I got the kids dressed up for the day... and I whipped out the camera before either would have the opportunity to make a mess of themselves...

A was so happy to get to hold C!

I was so happy that I was able to get such a sweet picture of A holding his sister... Of course... nothing can ever last more than a few seconds...

C started crying almost immediately... Oh well.  I guess we're just going with the theme of the year... "It's All Tears"...

They do smile... Occasionally they even smile at the same time... No, really.  They do!  I just never have my camera on me at those rarest of times...

2/365

starting the year off right?

not only did A not want to have his picture taken... after much protesting he caught his neck in the zipper of his sweater... it's a shame the picture of A and C wasn't very clear, because both of them were crying...

Let's hope this isn't how the rest of the year is going to be.
